Toddlers & Preschoolers
Toys
Lovevery is great. We do a lot of toy rotation for the kids, and the block set never rotates out. Their Play Kits are also great, and takes a lot of guess work out of age appropriate, non-toxic toys.
To say train sets are a hit in our house is an understatement. We have three Hape sets and they all connect together. These promote independent and imaginative play; it's also really fun to see how my 4 years interacts with it compared to my 1.5 year old.
Another open-ended toy that both of my kids enjoy.
I wish we had had this for my son! We used it daily for my daughter, from birth until she was close to a year old.
For those space-loving kids!
This isn't our exact set, but it's the same brand (Hape again!). My son got this when he was 1.5 and it is by far our most used toy to this day. My son loves "making soup" and my daughter loves putting ingredients back in the fridge.
One of many options for kitchen accessories. Hape also has a blender, a coffee maker, a toaster and fruit & veggies that can be "cut." Melissa & Doug also has some accessories.
Melissa & Doug has a great line of floor puzzles that are a great introduction for kids. The pieces are pretty big, and they have lots of pictures to choose from. These have become a staple "quiet time" activity in our house.
I love these because they come in a self-storing container, my son loves them because of the sense of accomplishment when he's finished all four. Totally manageable for small hands, and the backs have symbols to help sort them out.
My Dad tells the story of receiving a farm set reminiscent of this one for his third birthday and how much he played with it. This has also been a hit with my kids.
This camera is a hot commodity in our house right now. It takes real pictures and videos and is great for little hands. Colors are limited (blue or pink), but it will definitely be a stocking stuffer, unless the fighting over it gets to be too much!
Books
I have a problem when it comes to books: I can’t seem to stop buying them (I blame my Mother for it!). The age difference in my kids is spaced out nicely though, as we can give my son’s board & younger books to my daughter and can start buying picture books for him. Clothing/Apparel
My go-to pajamas for the kids, they're soft, organic cotton, and definitely hand-me-down quality.
Free of PFAS, these non-toxic rain boots are the only ones I could find for my daughter's itty bitty feet!
Another PFAS-free option for bigger kiddos.
PFAS-free rain gear that won't off-gas toxic chemicals.
