Hi, I’m Bethany!
I, like many other people, have had a challenging relationship with food. I’ve also had anxiety, chronic GI issues, migraines, and skin issues that I can now relate back to diet, imbalanced hormones, and inadequate stress responses. However, it wasn’t until I experienced a random accident to one of my shoulders that I really began to understand the mind-body, we-are-what-we-eat, holistic approach to healing and well-being.
Though that healing process resulted in a significant shift in my health & wellness beliefs, I still felt compelled to try every “diet” under the sun. I’ve been vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, pescatarian, Whole30, low carb, no carb…you name it. Some of these did in fact improve the health issues I was experiencing, but mostly I still just felt fine.
Then I had my son and everything changed. The only thing that mattered was that I felt strong and well in order to take care of him as best as I could. I realized what a rollercoaster of restriction I had been on for years and I didn’t want to do it anymore. It wasn’t the example I wanted to set for him (and now for my other two children as well).
I’ve experienced first-hand what diet and lifestyle choices can do to improve overall health, and I’m excited to help anyone who is ready to go on this journey as well.
A holistic approach
A holistic approach looks at you as a whole, unique person with individual needs and concerns. Working holistically, we will not only explore food preferences and choices, but also lifestyle choices, stress levels & stress management, attitude & mentality, proper hydration, physical movement, sleep routines & patterns and support systems.
I have a strong belief in finding the root cause of a problem or concern, and not just masking a symptom. We’ll work together to create a program that works specifically for you, and that is manageable and sustainable.
